Anna Freixa

Anna Freixa is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institut Català de Recerca de l’Aigua (ICRA). She is an aquatic microbial ecologist, currently a Juan de la Cierva incorporación fellow. She completed her PhD in environmental science in 2016 at University of Girona (UdG). Her research mainly focuses on understanding the role of river biofilms in the carbon metabolism, about their responses due to global climate change (warming, drought, and extreme events) and water chemical pollution (such as impacts of nanoparticles and micro -pollutants).
Personal contribution to the project:
She is involved in WP3 and WP4 to study the ecotoxicological and ecological responses of microbial communities to contaminants from the urban run-off.
